Answers to common questions about applying for and renting a home with CraftedRents.
How do I apply?
Choose an available home, then submit your application through our secure online portal. Everyone over 18 must submit their own application.
What is the application fee?
The application fee is $40 per adult.
What do I need to have ready?
Have this information on hand before you start, along with the $40 application fee for each adult.
About you
- Full name, birth date and Social Security number
- Email address and cell phone number
- Current address
- Driver’s license number and a photo of your ID
- Expected move-in date
Emergency contact
- Name, phone number and address
- Their relationship to you
Rental history
- Current or most recent landlord’s name, phone number and email
- The rental address, your monthly rent and your dates of tenancy
- Your reason for leaving
- Whether your rent is up to date
Employment and income
- Employer name, address and phone number
- Your position, start date and monthly gross income
- Your supervisor’s name and title
- Your recent paystubs (the application tells you how many are required)
Others living with you
- Name, relationship and birth date of each person who will live in the home
- Whether they will contribute toward the rent
- Anyone over 18 must file their own application
References
- Three references, each with a name, relationship to you and phone number
A few yes-or-no questions
- Pets
- Bankruptcy and felony convictions
- Whether you have ever broken a lease, been locked out by a sheriff, been taken to court by a landlord, or moved out owing rent or leaving damage
- Whether your rent and bills are current
- Whether you can pay the move-in total now
You will also be asked to agree to the terms and conditions before you submit.
How long does it take to hear back?
We usually have an answer in less than a week, and we’ll walk you through the next steps.
How much are the rent and deposit?
The rent listed for each home is the base rent. Rent and deposit may be adjusted depending on several factors, and both are confirmed with your application.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are considered case by case with your application.
What if there isn’t a home available right now?
Leave your email in the Get notified form on the home page and we’ll let you know when a new home opens up.
